Pork meat oven roasted with pumpkin

Pumpkin is in season and it’s one of the most versatile vegetables that can be used in both savory dishes and in pastry.

Today we are going to cook it with pork meat in a traditional Greek way!

Pork meat oven roasted with pumpkin



Yields 4 plates

Tools: Roasting pan with lid

1 kilo pork meat cut into medium size pieces

1 kilo medium size pumpkin pieces

1/3 cup esti extra virgin olive oil

1 garlic clove

1 onion finely sliced

A sprig of fresh rosemary

1 teaspoon paprika

½ cup white wine




Put meat and pumpkin pieces in a large bowl. Add esti extra virgin olive oil, garlic, onion, rosemary, paprika, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly with hands.

Place the mixed ingredients in a deep roasting pan. Add the wine and place in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees centigrade. Let bake for ½ hour then place the lid on the baking pan and let roast for two hours.

Serve as a Sunday dish with some elegant Greek red wine.
